Web Analytics
How many people visited your web site last month? Where did they come from? What can you do to attract more visitors and increase revenue? Avinash Kaushik, an Analytics Evangelist at Google, shares his answers to these questions.
Better Decisions With Analytics
When you’re developing a web site, you sometimes wonder what combination of graphics & text will turn the highest percentage of viewers into buyers. Proper use of analytics tools can answer that question for you.
Kaushik gives one example of a company that sells four products at four different prices: $20, $40, $60, and $80. They wanted to know what would happen if they gave away their cheapest product for free. So they setup two sites: One offered the standard prices, and the other was identical except for the $0.00 price of the cheapest product.
The result: Visitors who went to the “$0.00” site were more likely to purchase the $40, $60, and $80 versions of the product. Revenues increased when they gave away the cheapest version of the product for free.
How much is information like that worth to your company?
